I was thinking about how many times I faced a big problem and didn’t know how I was going to make it through. When I was a teenager, I was faced with getting beat up and I thought there wasn’t a way out of it. As an adult, I put myself in situations that should’ve left mental and physical scars, or hindered me for life, but I made it through. There were times when I should’ve died from birth, sickness, and dangerous situations, but I’m living to tell my story about unmerited favor over life’s battles.
For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for life; Weeping may endure for a night, But joy comes in the morning. – Psalm 30:5
I didn’t deserve this favor because, in actuality, I deserved to die because of all the sin I committed. There is this thing called repentance which led me to turn my back on a sinful lifestyle. I still don’t deserve what the Lord does for me. I thank God for the favor, which I don’t deserve, to be present in my life.
I invite you to look back, from this day, and if there’s anything you haven’t repented for, do it today. Then ask Jesus to come into your heart and release your life to Him. Doing so will give the Holy Spirit room to operate in your life and bring unmerited favor to the table.
