Genesis 12:1 – Now the Lord had said to Abram: “Get out of your country, From your family And from your father’s house, To a land that I will show you.
Abram, later named Abraham, trusted God enough to leave what he knew to go to what he didn’t know. This passage might leave some of us wondering what we would do if God told us to leave a comfortable home and familiar surroundings and go to a place we don’t know anything about.
When we read about Abraham’s relationship with God, we will find that Abraham had a faith in God we should want to have. God has a plan that includes us and it would take Abraham’s obedience to get the plan going.
God has a place He wants all of us to go to. And in order to get there we have to be willing to leave what we know and trust Him enough to move to a place we don’t know. Rest assured that wherever that place is, it’s going to be better than where we are now because God’s plans for us is for our good.
He’s calling sinners out of the familiar life of doing things that are against His will. He’s calling on those who already have a relationship with Him to trust Him a little more so He we can go a little higher and build even more faith in Him.
Where ever God is calling us from, I pray we have that walk away kind of faith that Abraham had. God has a whole lot of blessing He wants to do and He wants to work in us and through us to get some things done in our lives, and the lives of others.
