One of the most sickening things I often witness is hearing teenaged girls calling each other b***h (female dogs) and hoes. And the other most sickening things I can witness is hearing the same degrading and foul language being hurled at one another by boys.
To hear these words coming from young people, I can’t help but wonder where’s the self-esteem? Where’s the respect for one another? I can remember these words being “fighting words”. According to what some young people I’ve talked to, it’s their way to show love and respect for one another. A term of endearment?
Lord, I pray for wisdom and guidance to cry out against words that tear down and not build up. To teach young people they weren’t made for this and other things I’ve witnessed. In Jesus name, Amen.
