Prayer and Persistence

Prayer and Persistence

Then He spoke a parable to them, that men always ought to pray and not lose heart,  – Luke 18:1-2

Keeping in mind that when we pray in Jesus’ name and in God’s will, our prayers will be answered. But it might seem as though our prayers will never be answered. You’ve been praying for a particular thing or situation and nothing has happened. I want to encourage you today.

We must be persistent in our prayers.

Jesus gave this parable of a woman who was persistent with a king who didn’t know God and didn’t care about people. Her persistence finally moved the king to act on her behalf and relieve her from being treated unfairly. Jesus is reminding us today that we must be persistent in our prayers.

God has never broken a promise.

Not getting an answer doesn’t always mean no. For whatever reason, God may be waiting for the right time to answer your prayer. You’re living according to His will for your life. You love the Lord and realize you can’t live without Him. So keep on praying and believing and soon, He will answer your prayer. God has never broken a promise and He will not make you or me the first one to receive a broken promise.

And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it. – John 12:13-14
