Peace. What is peace? It’s a state where we’re free from disturbances, experiencing tranquility and quietness. Is that even possible in these last and evil days? It most certainly is!
You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You. – Isaiah 26:3
I’m a witness to peace still being a doable thing, even in a time when terrorist activity is a present threat. Even at a time when economies are folding. Even at a time of constant violence in our communities. Even at a time when our families are at odds with each other. Peace is doable. But how?
First, understand, you won’t be able to do it on your own. It is going to take a divine presence in all of our lives to accomplish what seems to be an impossible task. The “You” in this passage isn’t us, but it’s Jesus. The one who has demonstrated His power over sickness, poverty, demonic activities and nature. When we keep our mind, or our focus on Jesus, He will bring peace into turmoil, calm in every storm of life we encounter.
A lot of people are seeking perfect peace by going here and there, doing this and that. But the kind of peace we need in this day can’t be found through anything or anybody but Jesus! The kind of peace we find on our own is temporary and many times leads to even more problems. Take this from one who looked for peace in all the wrong places; I know Jesus is the way to “perfect peace.” He won’t let you down. All you have to is keep your focus and trust Jesus!
